Heavy snow pounds the Atlanta metro area

January 10, 2011 12:30 am PT

(TheWeatherSpace.com) -- It all depended on where you were, including under the thunderstorms that did hit with the system but Atlanta has received a heap of snowfall with this storm system.

TheWeatherSpace.com projections for this to hit looked right on target for the area. The area received a lot of snowfall and it crippled the area. Some areas received up to 7" of snowfall, near or surpassing the record.

Other areas received four to six inches. People were stuck on the roads and many were outside enjoying the snow. A few even got into their swimsuits and made snow angels.

The system will move on today and produce heavy snow in Western North Carolina before nailing the Mid-Atlantic to Northeastern United States in the coming couple days.
