(TheWeatherSpace.com) - TheWeatherSpace.com has issued a Tornado Watch effective this afternoon and evening, into some of the night for the Southern Alabama Panhandle to Western Florida Panhandle areas.
It was issued at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time today. The risk is a moderate risk for tornadoes. This is the first Tornado Watch of the year issued by Senior Meteorologist Kevin Martin.
"A storm system responsible for the severe weather in Southeastern Texas is in the Gulf of Mexico at this time," said the watch wording. "The tornado risk analysis model is showing an area of yellow, which is good enough to warrant EF1 or stronger."
The watch has no expiration time and goes through some of the night as storms move through Western Florida.
