(TheWeatherSpace.com) -- The International Space Station orbits high above the Earth's surface, but that did not stop astronauts from viewing the meteor shower.

NASA Astronaut Ron Garan posted a photo via Twitter from the window of the International Space Station (ISS) showing a shooting star from the 2011 Perseids Meteor Shower.

Like looking through a mirror, the shape and brightness of this meteor was the same from the ground, except the ISS was on the other side of the atmospheric burn zone. What a treat!
