TWS Issued Weather Alerts: – Air Quality Alert
Discussion: Gusty winds developing after that through the weekend will be the only main hazard … but it’s something the playa dealt with before. Gusts up to 30 mph will be common then through mid-week. Smoke from fires to the southwest will bring hazy/smoky skies to the area at times.
Long Range Forecast: A tropical system will impact the Southwestern United States around Sunday/Monday. This system will draw monsoonal moisture northwest toward the area. Iffy on how far it will travel … but it will be monitored … at this time am monitoring for mid-week (Wednesday) of Burning Man for that moisture arrival to begin looking at precipitation probabilities …
This discussion will be updated daily between 9-10pm or 9-10am so check back daily for updates.
Below is the custom forecast grid for the playa from August 23rd – 29th
