TheWeatherSpace.com Tornado Watch 31 was issued 12 hours ago and tornadoes are being reported across Eastern North Carolina, with some of them being strong. This will continue for the next 10 hours.

tw031TWS Tornado Watch 31 was issued yesterday for what is happening now. It was issued at 6:10pm Eastern Daylight Time on June 6, 2013, giving the area a whole 9-12 hour lead-time.

“Low level shearing and lifting will increase for Southeast Georgia this evening, where tornado warnings are already in progress,” said the statement. “the highest area of stronger dynamics is Eastern South and North Carolina, extremely to extreme Southeastern Virginia.
The area is characterized with strong low level convergence, strong low level shear. With such strong dynamics in the area, stronger tornadoes may be possible so this is a moderate risk tornado watch with high tornado probabilities … so EF2 type tornadoes may not be out of the question.”

The watch expires in the early afternoon hours.
