TheWeatherSpace.com has issued TWS Tornado Watch 016
Effective this afternoon into the night hours
Issued May 20, 2024 – 11:45 a.m. CDT

Storms are expected to fire real soon across Oklahoma and Kansas, spreading east-northeast with time over the afternoon/evening and lasting into the night hours. Favorable upper jet position, low level shear, instability, and moisture favors strong tornado dynamics within the area.

Because of the tail end of the activity being in Texas, have extended this watch to the Northern Texas areas. Storms today should be most intense across the Eastern half of Oklahoma and Southwestern Missouri, where I think the strongest tornadoes will be.

Some storms will be ongoing through the area after sunset, thus become a night-time hazard for some.
